    Hey guys,
I'd like to introduce you all to our first venture into the world of virtual reality. Lost Cause is a multiplayer game played via the Oculus Rift. It was made as a final year project by both myself and Jamie Hegarty (username : Hegarz).

Players find themselves in a large, uncharted, forested area, in which they must gather resources to survive. Players can choose to work together, or to go it alone. You can construct a number of structures, each with its own purpose, or venture inland to explore the uncharted area.

I created the original thread for the game in the "Work in progress" section, so rather than repeat myself, instead I'll include a feature list for our game here, and I'll also provide a link to the other post where you can find a lot more information, along with a video showing what our game is like.

Feature List (all features below are currently in the game)
    • Oculus Rift compatibility
    • Multiplayer compatible via the Photon Network
    • Custom Built Inventory
    • Ability to craft a number of tools and weapons
    • A variety of different animals and AI
    • Construction system allowing players to build a variety of structures
    • Ability to travel to other islands via a raft
    • Day/Night cycle
    • Durability for tools and weapons
    • Can equip/de-equip tools and weapons
    • Custom made combat system
    • Dynamic user interface to manage player vitals such as thirst, hunger, stamina, health etc (all UI is developed to work with the rift)
    • Traps
    • Puzzles
    • Visual feedback elements (eg a reticle for player actions like chopping, mining etc)
    • Main menu screen that works via Oculus Rift
    • Discoverable storyline
    • 3D player model rigged with animations for all actions
    • Tutorial section to help players learn controls
    • Fully interactive game world
    • Ability to collect a range of resources (eg wood, stone etc)
    • Xbox 360 controller support
    • Audio effects and background music

If the game attracts enough interest, we would be happy to provide you with a build so you can play it yourselves. All feedback is welcome.
