Over the past few months I've been developing with a small team a space strategy game called Lord of Rigel in Unity. We're aiming to make something a lot like strategy games from the 90s but with more modern graphics.

Download: Win | Mac OS X | Linux

It should give a pretty good sense of where the project is headed. There's a few kinks we're working out, but the next phase in development is finishing the tactical combat system, something which I hope to give some updates on in this thread over the next months as it develops.

So we've made some pretty good progress since November, getting everything converted over to Unity 5. Allan Floyd from Electric Rune Games who's released a number of strategy game related assets on the Unity store has also joined the team so we're going full steam ahead on the main game.

Most of our work has been focused though on getting a tactical combat demo ready, a skirmish mode where you can customize ships and set up fleets to battle around planets. Right now the last major feature to add are fighters and quite a bit of debugging.
