Looking to Have an FBX animation collide with Gameobject to cause shake animation

    I know its a newb statement, but I feel as if I have seemingly tried everything, I gave the fbx animation (Guy punching) a rigid body, and a character controller. It doesn't seem to have any effect on contacting my pillar, which also has a rigid body and a box collider - also I tried a box collider on my fbx's fist and mesh and body, but it doesn't trigger the Shaking animation on the pillar. I don't know where I am going wrong.
