    Hi there,
I am new to the community, my name Is Sypher and i am currently looking into game designing and i am aware that it is extremely difficult to get into, however, i have an idea, something that i have been interested in in a long time now, i currently have two ideas as a matter of fact, but i will stick with one for now, and i nee some assistance.

I am looking for people who can script, and create models for a game i have under way.
The game itself right now is named Unification and is an RTS style game, i know i cannot make something straight away and it will take me a lot of time, but i am willing to put the effort into it, i have plenty of free time to do this in and i was hoping their would be like minded individuals who want to jump on board my idea and maybe help out so to speak.

I can give more information about the idea once i have interested people involved and IF (and i really mean if) ever i could make a financial gain out of the project IF it were to be completed i would happily agree payment in a fair deal, one thing i want to note, i know full well i am thinking way ahead, but i want to do the best i can by the people who help.

I will continue to learn scripting myself and other aspects of game creation but if anyone jumps on board to help that will be sweet, right now i am keeping busy with the lore of the idea and looking at tutorial videos on game making in general.

Thank you for your time and take care.

If all you've got is an idea then you're exceptionally unlikely to find anyone with skill and experience who's willing to jump in and help out. If you're wondering why do a search for "ideas guy" on these forums.

If you're serious about this then continuing to learn the craft yourself so you can put together a playable prototype of your idea is the best way to go about it. People sometimes get on board with projects they like, but an idea alone isn't a project.

On your learning journey don't hesitate to ask questions here, the community is great. Keep in mind that the more specific your question the more we'll be able to help, and that there's a game design section here too now. Also keep in mind that a prototype doesn't need epic art - you can probably get away with primitive shapes and colour coding things (and heck, some games never take it further than that!), and you probably don't need awesome code.

    Best of luck!

You're welcome. It's great to see people who are willing to learn for themselves, put in effort and take on board answers that probably aren't what they wanted to hear. Big thumbs up for that!

Edit: Something else worth considering is writing a Game Design Doc. These are useful communication tools, but they're also useful for just making sure your ideas are in order and fleshed out. They're also something you can do a fair bit of work on before you've got art or code skills.

As pointed out the ideas guy just does not exist. Ideas are a dime a dozen in the industry.

However if you have a well crafted set of mechanics that just need coding, you might be on to something. Still, Most people would at least like to see at least a prototype before jumping in.

Also note there is a collaboration forum that is designed for this sort of thread.
