I don't really know where to put this so im going to hide this in here, I'm a 18 year old who's wanting to get back into game development. I've had this game idea stuck in the back of my head for a couple years now and I just want it to be able to go into a game. I'm looking for a good group of friends to join me on my adventure of making this game. If you would like to join, join my discord and ill give further detail from there. Its a 2D game so if you are an artist sprites are a must and if you are a developer, developing in 2d is a must also. I am a developer although I'm just getting back in the jist of things because i quit for awhile to focus on school and work! Thanks :D

why not join the numerous pre-existing unity discord groups, become active on unity connect, and become active on the forums, and become active on the unity subreddit. 4 sure ways to make some game dev friends very quickly.

I haven't found friends this way. So I won't recommend it.

    But maybe that's just me.

You should try to find out if there are any local game developer organizations in your area, or any organized game jams. It's better to meet people face-to-face to start off with.

Totally. Went to a game development meetup last week here in Brisbane, and I can tell you it's a lot easier to make friends face to face than on the forums :)

    what that means?

Also, check on meetups.com and see if there are meetups or Unity groups in your area.

The day that I find a dev on tinder and she swipes right as well, I would be in awe. XD

    So young...

Back when I was a kid if you wanted to meet random strangers you would buy an add in the personal column of the newspaper.

Wait, let me start again. Back when I was a kid, there were these things called newspapers. They were actual sheets of paper with words printed on them. Lots of these sheets were bundled up together, and called a newspaper. Then every morning young boys would jump on a bicycle (that's how we got around before Uber) and throw the newspaper onto people's lawns. Once a month or so, you would pay the newspaper delivery boy with cash (other pieces of paper with numbers and famous people printed on them).

The newspaper was arranged in columns of fixed size. That's a whole new story about movable type and the printing press and type writers. We hadn't yet invented the word processor yet. You could buy space in those columns to put ads or other messages. Space in columns was expensive, so everything read like a twitter feed. Except if you were rich of course, then you could show off by having more characters.

One of those columns was dedicated to personals. This was where people could advertise that they wanted to meet people. It was like Tinder, except not as fast or convenient. If you wanted to meet with someone, you had to put another personal ad in responding to their personal ad. There was none of this swipey-swipe stuff.

For an in depth explanation of the process, check out this YouTube video. Please excuse the quality, 1080 video was another thing that we hadn't yet got around to inventing.

Oh yea, in my country we didn't put that kind of notice in the newspaper.
