im struggling with lack of information about car physics to create a car simulation in unity.

Ive tried and struggling with the existing article which has many confusion due to typo and example. (https://www.asawicki.info/Mirror/Car Physics for Games/Car Physics for Games.html)

I found another article which is too close to the first article and again the same problem (https://www.google.com/url?q=https:...FjAPegQICRAB&usg=AOvVaw0UZtYxYVAflzCJ1Vwb39jP)

Ive done the up to the Engine Torque section and stuck in there.

After searching for the subject in 2 days, couldnt find anything else.

So thats why im asking here who knows the car physics to help me to find a good reference to be able to understand and implement it in unity.

    Thanks in advance.

"Car simulation" is just a way too broad topic. There are many, MANY related topics, simulation models, physic theories, variants, and very different ways to simulate every single thing. Those documents are good starting points, but you're pretty much on your own from there.

I'd recommend you to start it simple. Try using the WheelCollider and build your first cars. New challenges will arise based on what do you want your car to do. There are many tutorials and references on the WheelCollider out there. There also free vehicle simulation packages in the Unity Asset Store you may use to dissect and learn from:

    https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/essentials/tutorial-projects/vehicle-tools-83660
    https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/tools/physics/ms-vehicle-system-free-version-90214

There are many good books on car simulation. If I had to choose only one, I'd recommend you "Race Car Vehicle Dynamics" by Milliken & Milliken. The chapter 2 alone (Tire Behavior) is a great description on how a tire actually behaves.

Vehicle simulation is all about learning, experimenting, resolving challenges, repeat. For example, it took me three years to develop a tire simulation model I was satisfied with. I had to throw everything and start from scratch at least three times in the process. There are simpler wheel simulations, of course, but I wanted mine to work correctly in the situations others couldn't. Right now, 7 years later, I've almost completed a new advanced tire model I started from scratch just three weeks ago. Here's where those 10 years of learning and experimenting really pay off.

Not sure if there's anything I could really help you with. In any case, feel free to ask.

That was great recommendation but the book "race car vehicke dynamics" is out of stock on amazon and they dont have the ebook of it.

As you mentioned its all about learning not rushing to ship. Im also like to learn it instead of use plugins or easy wheelcollider to just make it publish.

I know it takes long time to learn but im willing to only if there is a clear path or vision in the learning process.

Ive seen your twitter link too. That looks pretty interesting.

Appreciate if you can suggest me any other book that can purchase digitally (ebook) instead.

    Thank you

Right now, I am exactly like you. I followed those two articles and got stuck on the section about Engine Torque. I am looking for any path to follow, but I couldn't find one. I am desperate to create my own car physics simulation, so I would appreciate it if someone could give me a clear article or book.

But by the way, did you manage to create a car physics simulation?

There are many other sources. Just google it :)

Here's the publisher's site, for example:
