Whenever you are coding some object and type a period, MonoDevelop pops up the auto-complete options which in that case will be the list of methods and properties of that object.

At one time I know that I saw the auto-complete options listed by class. For example, imagine I have a Zombie class that derives from a Character class, and Character derives from MonoBehaviour. The autocomplete for a Zombie object would list a "Zombie" header followed by Zombie properties and methods first, then it would list "Character" followed by Character properties/methods, then MonoBehaviour, Component, etc.

Now, whenever code completion pops up it's always just all properties and methods from all parent classes in one flat alphabetical list.

I'm not sure what happened. Anybody know how to get back that functionality? I can't find it in the options anywhere. I wonder if I somehow installed an old version of MonoDevelop or something.

When the pop-up is being shown, press "ctrl + space" (assuming you are on Windows).
