    Hi
I got Plastic working with unty 2021 LTS and Mint Linux. However now while I'm working I'm getting 4-5 crashes per day. This wasn't happening before the change to Plastic, so I can only conclude it's related to Plastic. The most general crash is when I'm changing code, when I' working on code unity just closes. No warnings. The second I've had is changing a prefab, this has caused the "unity has crashed" send a message to saying what you were doing ( I didn't as I'm sue this is Plastic related ).

Plastic is continually running a bar saying "finding changes in workspace" on the Plastic tab but think this is correct?

Can anyone from Plastic/Unity advise advise how I start finding this crash. My editor log seems to show quite a lot of this happerning
    Code (csharp):
    1.
    2. Curl error 7: Failed to connect to cdp.cloud.unity3d.com port 443 after 0 ms: Connection refused
    3. Curl error 7: Failed to connect to cdp.cloud.unity3d.com port 443 after 121 ms: Connection refused
    4. Curl error 7: Failed to connect to cdp.cloud.unity3d.com port 443 after 0 ms: Connection refused
    5.

    EDIT
and instantly after posting I have another Plastic error this time a box with "Error-Plastic SCM"
"Could not find part of the path "..............Editor/PlasticsSCM/-Assets/Images/iconbranch.png" And plastic tab shows error and a reload button. Honestly at present this is not fit for purpose.

I can’t it doesn’t work with Linux mint Xcfe desktop. I’ve tried Ubuntu and Debian but they won’t run due to missing libraries used by gnome.

EDIT I’ll try the gnome workaround for the the standalone client

    Hey,

Unfortunately, the gnome libraries were removed from Ubuntu in version 19. We posted a workaround for this here.

    Hope this helps!

You obviously haven’t even bothered to read what I linked! The Ubuntu subs say “Warning: Do not follow these instructionsfrom PlasticSCM Support on a modern version of Ubuntu. You will break your system.”

and link to the page you then tell me to go to!

I’m not prepared to use your instructions when people on Ubuntu are saying don’t do it. Can you confirm my system will not be broken.
Is this getting fix anytime soon or should I cancel my subscription?

The workaround @ollieblanks proposed as been used by many customers with no issues so far. I don't know why this user reports that it could break your system. I personally used this workaround in a test machine.

I'm afraid this is the only current workaround to install Plastic in Ubuntu 19-20.
