I've worked out that lightmaps have to be uncomressed for flash, else it has bad artifacts.

Why is this, will it be fixed, and what's the workaround right now i.e. how to control the level of compression rather than turn it off completely (lightmapping>maps>compressed)

uncompressed lightmaps make the build massive!

    Thanks!

I don't think flash supports the required compression scheme to reasoanbly compress lightmaps without those bad artifacts you see.

As for more finegrained control: switch the texture to type advanced, then you will get the full selection on the compression dropdown

I believe unity supports some sort of jpeg compression for flash, which is what alot of 3d flash games use.

You can still use compression on the lightmap textures, there is a quality slider available in the texture override settings for Flash; set it to 100% (or slightly tweak it down).
