Just downloaded Unity 5.5 and opened one of my lightmapped scenes. The scene consists of a terrain and several objects on it and has one directional light. The whole scene is lightmapped and looked great in 5.4 but in 5.5 the terrain is dark as if the directional light does not affect the terrain. I cleared the lightmap and as soon as I did that the terrain lit up so it's not a culling mask problem. I baked the lighting again and the same issue occured - the terrain was very, very dark. I then made some new test scenes and baked terrain lighting there - everything was dark again. Regular objects get lightmapped properly, terrains receive shadows but don't get lit by light sources.

Does anybody else experience this? I'm wondering if I should file a bug report. epic_lightmap_job.PNG

In General GI section, select non-Directional as Directional Mode. It's may solve your problem.

Thanks for the reply! I tried that but nothing changed after baking. I need the lightmap to be non-directional for the purposes of this project anyways. What I did is I built the game and the build worked just fine. This only happens in the editor and during play mode in the editor.

Oh, that's a bummer! Anyways, thanks for letting me know! I suppose I could change the platform to PC over time to check if everything looks good for the time being.

Hi! I'm having the exact same bug. Do you have the bug ID, so I can follow up?

Hi! I'm having the exact same bug too. Do you have the bug ID, so I can follow up to increase the number of complains so that Unity fix it faster.
