    I've tried this on 5.4f1 and 5.4p2 -- I had a project where I had to kill the process while it was importing a large asset. When I re-loaded the project, the console and lighting window no longer appeared. I tried deleting the library folder, to no avail.

    In fact, I can't make the lighting and console window show up in new projects using 5.4 either. I have also completely uninstalled 5.4 and re-installed it, the same thing happens.

    I've uploaded the project as Case 843083.

    However, I think that somehow there is some corrupted parts of the Unity installation still hanging around? It must be a problem with the install being corrupted since it affects all Unity projects on my machine.

    The Hololens Technical Preview and the lighting and console windows do not show up in this version either--what can possibly be wrong here??? It must be a Windows issue or something?

    Are you saying that going to Window > Lighting doesn't open the Lighting tab?

    @DroidifyDevs yep -- it does not. I also noticed I cant open up the Animator tab. I'm convinced that somewhere in the registry, the window size is set to 0,0 so it can't be seen. I did manage to undock the lighting window from another project's layout and then it showed up undocked when I reset to defaults. But I don't dare hide it and try to re-enable it.

    Animaton window will not show up.

    Quick thing: Did you click "Layout" on the top-right and set it back to factory? Might help...

    @DroidifyDevs Did that doesn't help.

    Here's what I've tried:

    * Uninstalled / Reinstalled Unity
    * Installed 5.5 beta
    * Layout Factory Default
    * Deleted AppData and uninstalled
    * Deleted all Unity registry keys

    Nothing fixes this.

    I can bring up the lighting and animation window if I right click on a tab and use the "Add Tab" feature. But bringing up the panel through the Windows toolbar doesn't work.

    Also--the HoloLens Unity editor script that brings up a build settings window doesn't work either. I traced through it, and although EditorWindow's GetWindow returns a valid window, and it's size and position are set, OnEnabled never gets called on it. It's simply not displayed.

    I fear the only solution to this is reinstalling windows. Which I really don't want to do. Can anyone at Unity help me with this somehow? It's a pretty big problem.

    I'm totally at a loss here. I just reinstalled windows (Reset my PC, kept my files and settings) and Unity will not open any windows in the Windows toolbar option at all...no Lighting, no Profiler, nothing. There are no errors in the error log? This is across all versions of Unity.

    Do I have to really just nuke my entire windows installation?

    Is there any way anyone at Unity can help diagnose this issue before I totally nuke my development machine?

    I just had this problem, and the way I fixed it (similar to the above) was to open a completely separate project, open the window there, ensure it was on the main display, close the project, then re-open the project where the problem was.

    This might have required the layout to have been the same across both projects - I didn't test with projects with differing layouts.

    But it does seem like some weird mix of project-specific and layout-specific data.
