Bug Light2D with sprite missing Point (no filter) support, compared to previous cookies.

    Hi Unity Team,

    the headline pretty much tells it all. The sprite light type with a cookie for Light2D (experimental), to create crispy pixel perfect lights, is not working with the URP 12.1.6 Light2D sprite (mask). Now it seems it always uses bilinear filtering.



    Is this a bug, not supported any more at all or maybe fixable in a new way?
    So far I was not able to find anything on the net about this issue.

    Solution:
    If you upgrade the URP and create a new "URP Settings" with the "Universal Render Pipeline Asset" (2D) you MUST delete the old "Settings" folder. Even though removed from the project settings, it still messes up the rendering.
