I am trying to find more info on what Unity's light baking engine needs in terms of GPU specs. Cuda cores seems to be the biggest demand and perhaps memory but I am unsure? Anyone have any insights. I am also curious how many mrays/sec people are getting with a 3080/3090 and 6800XT/6900XT GPU.

If anyone is curious, I am getting 265-285mrays/second with a Asus 3090 Strix and the nVidia Studio Driver. This is 2.5 times higher than with an Asus 1080TI Strix. Will try the game driver and report back if different.

More GPU memory is better when you want to bake large scenes and large light maps with the GPU light mapper. We are improving memory consumption but for now you should consider a 16 GB or above GPU if you want to bake 4K maps.

@AcidArrow eGPUs work fine, there isn't that much PCIe traffic once the scene state has been uploaded to the GPU and the traffic is async.
