License activation versus ping times

    License activation seems to time out after 1 second, then try a second time, then ... just hangs.

    This means users with satellite internet are pretty much screwed. The speed of light means we get 600ms ping times if everything is perfect. Right now there's a snow day where I am, so people are home watching netflix and my ping times are up around 1.5s to 2s, with high packet loss. That means that I can't activate my license.

    What would work for this case is if the license kept trying, and used exponential backoff on the timeout. I'm used to waiting, that's not a problem.
