    Hello all,

Recently my team decided to upgrade our Unity Project from 2019.4.14f1 to 2021.2.7f1.

And while the transition was smooth and almost nothing broke.

Can't seem to build anymore for Webgl. And was wondering if anyone else had this problem.

Here are the errors I am getting when I build

    Solutions I have tried:

    • Deleting the Library folder to Re-import Library/Bee
    • Upgrading the Addressables Package
    • Changing around Webgl settings.
    • Tried to Re-import everything.

Is this a known bug with a workaround?

    Thanks!

First try build a nearly-empty project (eg, just the SampleScene from a new project).

If that doesn't build, your project certainly won't. File a bug with Unity using the empty project.

If it does build, now you can bisect back to your current project.

How does building in a new project help the Old project (if it does build)?

    I am curious

First it proves the problem is NOT in the toolchain.

You'd feel pretty silly wasting weeks fiddling with your project if the tools didn't work in the first place. It should always be your first stop.

At a minimum you can bisect to find the problem.

i had same build error with that "referenced by top-level compiled C/C++ code",
solution was to update external assets/plugins (pdf viewer plugin in my case had some webgl 2 related fix..)
