Level editor

    Hi,

    I would like to make a level editor for my game, similar to say Trackmania.

    The game has course parts where parts needs to be placed adjecent to eachother. I think a good idea would be to restrict placement of these blocks to be in a grid of say whole units.

    Props and buildings etc could be placed freely.

    A basic terrain editor would be very nice to have as well.

    Any ideas on where to start looking at how to create this in a smart way? I could probably hack something but it would probably be neither efficient nor pretty hehe.

    Editor scripting, (handles, custom inspector) is so valuable while developing a level editor.
    I would advise you not to get into this job unless you are confident about your editor scripting.

    Why would you need editor scripting for creating an after-build level editor?
