Greetings Unity3D community! I would like to talk to you today about my first and new project on Unity3D called Legends of the Asphodel: Insurrection.

Let me start by saying that I am a part of Penguin Banner Studios- a two man indie developer ground (my cousin and me) and this is our first major project using Unity3D. I have been playing around with Unity for about a year and my cousin for about four months and we have carefully planned out the story for the project and now we want to make it.

    Story/Setting:
LotA is set in the year 6:87 (sixth era, year eighty-seven) deep underground in the fantasy world of Sytha. You play as a dark elf in the dark elven underground colony of Oflia ruled by a tyrannical mad man only known as the Underking who has blocked all access to the outside world. Now, after assuming the position of the Asphodel (hero of the gods), your player must lead the rebellious districts of Oflia against the Underking and lead an exodus to the outside world of Sytha.

Here is a video showing the playable areas currently available in the game- Vacant Market, Sinsong Woods, East Tang Plains, and Cailenor.

The environment you see was modeled by me (except the houses and trees). Currently my cousin and I are looking into modelling and texturing so we can get rid of the plain gray people in the game. After we get the NPC's down, we'll begin working on the combat system in the game. Below is a checklist of things that will be/have been done.

    • Text dialogue system
    • Voice dialogue system
    • NPC movement
    • Combat system
    • Textured NPC's < Although not completely finished, it's mostly done
    • Save/Load game feature

Looks like your off to a good start. May consider changing the name. I think it could lead to some mispronouncing it and calling it something unappealing.

If you're referring to Insurrection, I am looking to change the name because my friend pronounced it "in-her-erection"... But, no matter I'll be announcing the new title soon.

    Update: 1-9-15

I have recently used Fuse- a Mixamo feature and have made modeled rigged characters that re now animated. Here are some- please note the twitch in the pictures is just the GIF restarting as the animations aren't fully there.

Here is a normal dark elven guard stationed at his post. He is apart of the Spectra district.

Here is a female dark elf merchant. She mostly sells weapons.

Here is another dark elf who is local bard at Vacant Market

Here is a favorite of mine. This is Dobbarin. Although I cannot say much, he is a wise old human who is blind as you can see.

Please tell me what you think, I'll be posting more updates soon.

    Pretty nice looking characters.
Is your dark elf society going to be matriarchal/imperialistic similar to forgotten realms?
The human character's skin tone looks a little yellowish/monotone to me. Not to say that's bad because we all have different skin tones - just pointing it out.

The dark elves in my lore will be society of former wood elves who were forced underground by a war 100 years prior. The reason the humans have a monotonic skin color is because they also live underground with the dark elves.

I don't think 100 years is a long enough time frame to alter the natural elven skin tone to a greyish color. Maybe consider pushing it further out like 1000 years or more.
