I'm working on a system that allows for modding just about anything. This of course means that animations and related assets needs to be external files. The Animator and AnimatorController is not well suited for this. However the legacy animation system seems to be what I need, but since Mecanim seems to be king of the hill now I can't help but wonder if the legacy system is being faded out? So here is the question. Is the legacy system being faded out or is it meant to coexist with Mecanim? If the legacy is being fated out, do you have a time frame on that?

    Thanks in advance!

Legacy will be supported for the whole 5.x release cycle, there is no plan to remove it at this time.
