First i do apologize if this is in the wrong forum but i couldn't find any better place.

I have been developing/released a few games on IOS and decided a few month ago to swap to Unity so i can do multi platform. After trying to learn not only Unity but also C# i am approaching a situation were i soon need to start thinking about IOS/Android specific coding and strategies. BTW, i have not yet started to fully understand the platform particular coding, functions etc.

As i have never needed to bother about different platforms i would like to ask the following questions, in no particular order:

    1. How do people plan deployment of multi-platform? ...do you do all work with the platforms and then release or take on at a time?

    2. Do you have one single version of your game/app code with all platforms specifics that you compile for respective platform or different versions?

    3. How do you plan the structure of the "multiple platform" coding in regards to Game Center, in-app purchase, add's etc. ...if there is any specific planning that is.

    Cheers

    1. Some people launch on multiple platforms simultaneously, while others do a staggered release. It depends on how much you can handle at once, how urgently you need revenue, and stuff like what your press strategy is - if you release on iOS now and manage to get some press coverage, are you going to be able to get people to cover the game again when you release Android later or do you realistically only have one shot at coverage?

    2. Wherever possible, one version that can be built for multiple platforms.

    3. Careful use of #if statements :)

Thanks, i guess the best way of protecting the app name is to release multiple platforms at the same time?
