Latest Unity license clarification for freelancers.

    (I don't recall seeing a thread about this, if you have already had a thoughtful discussion on it without me just direct me there instead.)

    So I was reading through the licenses and see that the freelance position has finally been clarified.

    There is also a provision lower down that lets higher tier license users get exceptions to effectively downgrade for clients on a lower tier.

    Its nice that this is finally clarified.

    From a practical point for freelancers it means:
    • Asking your client what their total finances are
    • Obtaining a license to match your highest client
    • Firing off an email to unity if you need to work with multiple tiers
    The only situation it doesn't cover is if you are working for someone who uses pro/plus, but isn't required to by their total finances.
