Large Assets (> ~100 Mb) constantly error when downloading from Asset Store

When updating assets which I tend to do every few days everything used to be fine. That was until about a few weeks ago when there was a spate of Asset Store updates and now have serious issues with any larger assets over ~100Mb. They get so far, seem to pause for several minutes without updating progress and then finally fail with a red bar rather than the normal green saying Error. This happens whether I click the Update All or manually do them one by one. The downloads don't resume if I retry so always start from scratch. Now got 6 assets all over 100Mb I want to update and not one has succeeded in several hours of trying.

It is definitely not an issue with bandwidth as I have a 100Mbit connection. I have tried on 3 windows based PCs and all have same issue. Even installed Unity on Mac (the 10Gb installation as included nearly all platforms downloaded in < 15 minutes with the Download Assistant) but that exhibits identical behaviour.

Asset Store I assume is independent of Unity version but tried in multiple versions of 5.x and always same problems. No firewall issues. Always in a completely empty project and clicking Update not Import. So annoying can't download in a browser with a Download Manager or at least allow the download to resume on error not restart. Something seems to have changed in the Asset Store recently that has reduced the reliability of downloads.

Am I the only one or anyone else having issues? Not sure what else I can do at this end. If location is potentially an issue with the cloud based delivery I am based in Australia.

Bumping this as getting beyond a joke. See above post for details of issue.

Constant time out errors downloading a single asset (today the free Speedtree one). Who can I email or tag to get this looked at? Can't believe I am only one with this issue? Doesn't matter what time of day I download even in middle of night still get time outs. Never used to happen until about a month ago.

Actually want to buy an asset but as it 1.6Gb there is no way it will get 10% downloaded with these issues.

Probably you need to sent bug request. Did you try to find any logs, it could help you or support team to investigate this issue.

    BAG request? What is that.

Well stupidly bought that 1.6Gb asset and can't get it to download even 5% before it errors. Even downloading at 3am just in case server load is an issue but no difference. Not sure what logs I can provide as can only download the asset from within Unity so unless they provide some logs what else can I do? If it were possible to download via browser then at least could use a download manager to get the file. Unity doesn't even resume so have to start from scratch. Even tried disabling DirectX11 as that was apparently an Asset Store issue in the past. As I keep repeating this has only been an issue in last month or so. Would be tempted to use a VPN and try from US in case issue specific to Australia but that might flag issues when my account logs in. I can download 10Gb of Mac unity install files in 15 minutes so bandwidth at my end not an issue. Something in Unity is causing it to time out.

I appreciate you are trying to help but getting so frustrated with this issue. Just need a direct Asset Store contact to complain to. Guess if can't download the asset will have to try and get a refund for non delivery.

I have the same problem. I've been trying unsuccessfully to download the VR Samples package for three straight days now. The download gets to about 11% then freezes , sometimes it says error, but not always. I've tried downloading with Windows 10 Firewall turned off, but the result is still the same - fail.

Unity doesn't seem to acknowledge this error exists and I haven't seen a single solution. Some people suggest setting the Windows Environment Variables for a proxy, but I'm not using one, nor a vpn.

I don't have a particularly fast Internet connection, typically around 3.0Mbps (UK), but I've downloaded large (2GB) files in the past. Currently I cannot download a single thing from the Unity Asset Store and there are no mirrored sites to download from, so I might as well just switch my VR development to the Unreal Engine - no download problems there.

    *UPDATE*

This may be a machine-license issue.

I originally installed my Unity license on an iMac. Recently, I've switched to using a PC to develop for the Samsung \ Oculus GearVR and packages will not download via Asset Store, no matter what I do (disable firewall, change to DX9 etc).

However, I went back to my iMac and initialised a download through the iMac's version of Unity. IT WORKED! The VR Samples downloaded without any problems or stoppages.

Really getting sick of this issue. I've not been able to download some of my larger asset purchases for the last couple weeks even though I never had an issue beforehand. At some point during a download - seems completely based on time as sometimes I reach 80% or 13% of the same 500mb asset download - it will just give up downloading and error out.

I've tried almost everything I can think of, but the downloads just time out eventually.
