Is anyone else getting kernel panics with the latest beta? This is the first time I've used Unity, and I've gotten 2 kernel panics in the space of about 45 minutes. I'm using a clean installation of Tiger on a dual 2 GHz G5. The kernel panics happened: (1) When quiting Unity, and (2) When bringing Unity to the foreground.

I've been using it since the first beta and have never had a kernal panic. Several crashes and hangs but never a kernal panic. Joe or Nicholas is sure to pop in and get to the bottom of things. Did you send them the crash/console logs through the Submit Bugs app?

If anyone has a reproducable case with step by step instructions on how to reproduce it. That would be great.

It's not easy to reproduce, unfortunately. I've gotten it twice when switching to Safari, browsing the net for a while, then bringing Unity to the foreground (kernel panic at this point). It hasn't happened for about a day now, so maybe it's something I can live with for now.

Did you keep unity running for a day and then switched back to it?
Did you have a particular scene open when it happened?

I left Unity running overnight a couple of times, but I don't remember when the kernel panics happened relative to how long Unity had been running. The scene I was viewing was one of the example scenes, probably with a few modifications. Anyway, I haven't seen a panic for a while, so I'll keep an eye on it and let you know if I come up with anything else.

I only started using unity recently, and have received kernel panics. like yourself I use a g5 with twin 2ghz, and a tiger installation. Any attempt to use unity for half an hour or more has caused kernel panics two days in a row. i know it has been two years since you last used this thread, and I would like to know if your problem was ever resolved, and if so - how. please help

Try to reproduce or record this issues, the Unity team works very fast and get solutions as accurated as you report/document these cases.

    Good Luck.
