    Hi everyone,

I just wanted to introduce myself to community, normally I just lurk in forums and absorb as much information as I possibly can. However, I just started getting involved in unity and game development and to be perfectly honest it is like a breath of fresh air. And I really want to get more involved in the field (and by extension the community).

Although I am new to game development in particular, I was first fascinated (and fell in love) with coding and development in high school where I took a crack at webdesign and some basic Java. However, I am currently a computer science major...and the degree program has been sucking all the fun and joy out of development that even turning on my computer seemed to be a monumental task.

However, since I picked up a class on unity from udemy (shout out to Ben Tristem for making an excellent course so far) I am excited to get home and fire up my workhorse and "get to work", even those "wtf, why isnt this working" moments are not as frustrating...and seem more like a the friendly challenge they used to be.

So that basically covers my introduction...I am glad to be on here, and you can expect to see more (useful) posts and comments from me in the near future ;)

    Welcome!

Thanks will do! I have been poking around those but haven't actually gone through anything listed there just yet.

With Unity, it's very much trial and error. Poke it with a stick and see the reaction. The docs are another creature entirely so you'll want to read both halves: scripting and manual, for each part of Unity. As a mod, I see a lot of the same question popping up where the user feels too timid to take a step. With Unity, it's OK to get it wrong. Just dive in.
