Just bought Unity Plus, how do I claim the accelerator and essentials package?

well I hope to see an email this weekend but I don't count on it... I'm a Unity user for more then 5 years now and never got anything for free! I also use Unreal Engine for 2 years and got 2 vouchers for the marketplace already and they did not let me wait for it for more then 1 Month...

 

BTW are we talking about the same email here? I'm not a new subscriber... I got this email:

@spotdot2 Only the first sentence is different. I understand your frustration. I am disappointed as well. I planned to figure out new assets this weekend. It is almost afternoon and still waiting. An explanation would be respectful to users, especially to loyal users. Anyway, hope at least we get it some time.

Regarding packs, I think I will choose 2d as well. Corgi engine does not seem fine to me but UI pack and the last one look useful if they do not affect performance deeply.

I'm another one going for the 2D pack. I've got two games in progress that are waiting on the assets One for the UI and the other (which is a jam game and no big deal) for the 2D lighting thing that got added a week or two back (without any fanfair).

Been using Unity on and off since 2010 and this is the first time any communication with them hasn't blown me away.

it's 9:48 BST on the 1st now.

 

@beyazfil my plan was to go for the VR package, just bought the HTC Vive so I wanna play with that for a bit. My project is nearly finished so that is why I canceled my subscription... I will use UE4 for my next VR project so for me it is not a biggie if I don't get the free package (in time) it's more a matter of principle now

I actually haven't gotten any issues with unity either.
Using it for almost 4 years now, maybe they got busy since Unite has been some days ago and they didn't take that into account when setting the release date.

 

It would make sense to roll things out in this way, Microsoft rolls out updates in the same manner.

 

That's true, however it's not really the kind wait to let people wait. They should announce something like "Pro licenses now getting voucher codes, plus to follow later on"
Everyone would know what's going on.

Yeah i was already quite dissapointed i had to wait a month to claim it since i took the offer for Unity Plus to get mesh baker to optimize my game... However as of 01:49 AM, 2. of June, CET time i've heard nothing! I've even paid already for my next month of subscription!

I asked one of unity's employee what is going on with the essential pack from unity plus, and he told me due to the fact that they had so many subscriptions when the offer went live,they could not sent us right in 30 june so he told me i should receive the pack by 5 july. Do not worry guys,we will get it. :-D Anyway we still have unity plus or pro and the accelerator pack,so enjoy those .

 

Why not send us all an email about the delay!? or give a reply here in the forum?!

I bought plus and haven't received any e-mail after the purchase confirmation. It's 12 p.m. in Colombia. Of course, I don't think Unity will scam us, but I'm afraid I may somehow miss the pack I want ("Sorry. You were the last one to receive the e-mail and we have already run out of 2D packs").

 

No that is not gonna happened you will get the free assets but not in time...

 

We start to every next day like this. So yes maybe Monday is the day.

No email here either. I had made good plans to be playing with those kits at the weekend too

 

mee too, need some of them for my current project. But for that quality assets i am willing to wait some more days, but the lack of communication is a little bit pity. Why not just send an automated mail to all who subscribed in that period and are able to receive the packages that it will be little late.
Delays can happen, but there should be a little communication, even if its just one sentence in this thread or something like that.

 

It is really strange, i cant understand what is the problem to generate vouchers and send to a mail list, is it hard to do really?
At the end they are only digital resources, they are not sending us physic resources :/
