Hi there! Just a little tease of my game: NEFER'U'MAAT, an ancient egypt FPS (first-person shooter) game made in Unity 2019. It's just 1 image (I'm freaked out giving away stuff on internet about WIP, but one day or another game will be seen (but mostly in near fully realized state/will have been released by then, some people haven't made a 'blip' on their game: ''My demo - 7 years later'', I surface). So I guess we do it 'silently' in the back(ground), but it's happening it's just very hidden/unknown (games takes years). Many games are made and it's all happening right now. The story quickquick is you play an archeologist (game is not set during the antiquity but more around the 'gold era of archaeology' which was 1890s) that has to stop the world from ending (yes story is paper thin). You stop being an archaeologist and you become a FPS crusader that will have to defeat an army of denizens/mythological creatures from ancient egypt. You are armed (more so than Doom Eternal (give him a run for his dollars, I have 50 weapons in my game, well 30 or so and 20 magic like), also about 50some monsters and 25 levels going from pyramids, tombs, water, desert, etc (I hjave not completed everythnig of course. I'm not egyptian (am french canadian)), one of the elements in my game is from the Grand Museum of Cairo Giza Egypt (with their blessing/commercial licensed)/many others (was going to open in 2020 but coronavirus delayed it, thus their musueum is doing virtual tours). I may downsize a bit though because I put the bar 'on myself' quite high when I started this project 3 years ago (but I knew that 'today' the Only games that get interest Are the ones that put the bar Sky High). I looked at games like assassin's Creed Origins (made in my city by ubisoft), Maze of the Kings (a great arcade .on rail' egyptian Japanese game) and of course Doom Eter/UT/Duke NUkem 3D/Blood/Shadow Warrior/the Mummy games/Serious Sam 3-4/Alan Quatermane/Powerslave/Ion Fury/Amid Evil/DUSK/Return to Castle Wolfenstein, old Sega Saturn/32X/PCPSX DOs 3D FPS games and such to get some inspiration about what is a cool FPS in that ancient world (ancient egyptian games have been made but very few have been very good/remembered, especially, FPS ones). Built-in render' with post-prod stack using a lot of layers, can't say more, each has secrets, and secrets stay (secret), dev shares or not (not HDRP, HDRP is impressive but it made it less impressive when I tried/transfered to it). GI feel is created though lighting bouncing/cinema 3-point placement (no baking). Some of the assets (won't say which but check asset store) helped me immensely, I recommended them (albeit now, HDRP is vEry good, thus, HDRP can be more than sufficient alone in itself; like the RTX Raytracing is spectacular (real-time lighting) but I still felt it was worse than built-in using raster and tricks). It goes to show it is not (entirely let's say) the engine that does it, the user can transform an image with the tools/knowledge; the engine does what it can. This is very WIP and it will differ, but the composition feel will be kept. Thank you for looking.
