    This is almost Like the First Jurassic park, Very good - - but, May-be you can add a Little creative Spice, what if the Dinosaurs Became zombies And, you Had to cure them, With An anti- dote - -§ Save them - --$

    Alot done this weekend:
    • T-Rex(s) animations done with emerald ai
    • More foliage added
    • Post processing stack v2 set up
    • Major optimizations
    • Material shader instancing set up
    • Tweaks to rendering
    Heres a vid of t-rex animations, adding all foliage next. They sniff, scratch and head shake:

    lol, thnx, all species are walking and more, its just now im setting up all dinos with final animations, cant wait to show the combat animations, they are great, and the pteranodons are flying, dive attacking, etc., and the compys are fast little bastards...everything is on schedule :) And the observation towers are now placed around the island (8-9):



    @Antypodish you werent kidding, its ALOT of work for one guy, but im amazed at what ive got done so far, AND staying on schedule, wish i had help, but work drives on..Thnx for all you help and wisdom brother...

    Well, you picked up huge task, for one man team indeed.
    But if you can afford time and got motivations to do it. Do it.
    In worse case scenario, you always can take it, as little hobby for next 10 year :D

    I like your wit, lol, keep it coming bro, bless you, the project will be done in the 12 month time frame, maybe a bit over, as if you look, the project started in May...its now end of august, not bad i say, for 3 months work....(check mate, lol). You always push me to be better, and i like that...

    Yep, emerald ai will have that in next update, in about a week or so, so that will be corrected :)

    Regarding corpOration logo, personaly I would try use chromosome X, as K letter, with some smart adjustments.

    Edit:
    Just some thought
    Turning this example, into chromosome 1 alike, which looks like K

    However, for small logo, may not be as appealing.
    But what you could do, use your DNA example, and make K of it, as chromosome case 1.

    This goes out to you @jbb1979 ,

    Ok i wasnt going to do this, as i wanted to wait for Emerald AI's update, but...i wanted to show you what the FINAL animated version of T-Rex, looks like. I will add in the new turning annimation in, when the next version of EAI is out.

    Now onto the Video and Update:

    1. adjusted all speed parameters (AI and Annimation base)
    2. adjusted Navmesh settings/interactions/offset
    3. set up all Combat annimations/interactions

    This is a showcase of what EAI is capable of in current state, great AI Project, updated frequently, and great service (if you encounter any probs, i havent):

    New Pteranodon footage, non-combat animations mind you, still needs to be refined, but lookin good, the offset is right and the combat animations will be great :)

    I was wondering, could you make some quick low-poly rocks and, trees and, add them, to increase mood ?

    If you add them, taking perhaps 30 minutes to make each, very low poly, you can always refine them later or, use prefabs and, add a detailed model later - - I think it Would really Feel like a Mile-stone and, accomplishment, to Have a ' full set ', a sort of ' First - draft ' model - -§

    @jbb1979 as ive posted before, i havent had a chance to get foliage (tress, rocks, plants, etc.) as i do "sections of the island" at a time, its on the list for this coming weekend. Alot of the island is done, but the Ovi-raptor/Pteranodon area hasnt been done yet, cant wait till it is. Tomorrow night is final (non-combat) animations/AI for the Spineosaurus, cant wait :)

    Exactly bro! That is the way it will be, lol As i tell people all the time, "this isnt jurassic park", and if you read the story line, it takes place after the last movie, so its a continuation on a different story line, and with Emerald AI, im able to deliver dino violence greatly, all videos to date ONLY show non - combat animation/AI, you should see the combat animation/AI, its killer. :)

    Imagine this senario...you come to a clearing and see a T-Rex, you start trying to kill it, until out of the corner of you eye you see a 2nd t-rex, now you have 2 to kill, and they aint easy to kill...lol

    Maybe you are aware, but just in case you are not, your T-x is in running position. Not in walking / standing position.
    Just look at body mass distribution (visually).

    If I would try walk (not run) like that, I think I would shovel the ground with my teeth :D

    @Antypodish yea thats the last thing to address on the T-Rex's.
    Love the vids, i used to play Arc, and also Combat animations/AI is another phase to come, ive had alot of the dinos fighting each other to check out the animations, looks damn cool.

    Looks cool. It is nearly as I was thinking of.
    Only that I would maybe emphase more, on the spiral DNA inside.
    Possibly make it more red? Somehow to make it more apparent, so anyone can see that it DNA related.

    But since it says Genetic in the name, maybe is enough :)
    Just try and see what you can get. Then choose better option.

    But if you got K alone somewhere placed in game world, with apparent visible DNA, you could use it alone in some places, without Genetics word. Just smaller / shorter logo alternative.

    Very cool, ill work up a few variations tomorrow, the red spiral DNA strand might look really good, like a color offset, we will work it out, the biggest question is to use Genetics, or GEN...

    So far i havent placed anything in - game, till me and you work it out, as with a logo, it will be placed on soldiers uniforms, operations center, vehicles, etc., so i want it right, big thnx for the help bro, i welcome all unity community input, if ya have an idea, shoot it.. :)

    No probs. Mind, you can place whatever you got and whenever is ready. It should be relatively easy to replace.
    I mean big / small billboards / logos on/in building, rather than emblem on Uniform (for now).
    At least you will see, how it will look like. Just for testing.

    Not much to update tonight, as im working on Foliage, Trees, Rocks, etc. But this weekend ill be working on giant snake animations/textures, and adding in 2 new species.

    Im actually amazed, as when i boot up Unity and look at the project to start work, its really progressed SO far, that its looking So Damn Good, i can see everything coming together. Its come so far from starting off as a private release of a JP game, to a public release of something different. Community support has been great, and some killer ideas.

    You guys rock! Couldnt imagine this project coming to life without you guys, you push me to be better, have great ideas/input, cant ask for more :)

    As promised, this is the newest addition to Jurassic Extinction..the Carnotaurus! Also the vegetation/foliage is almost into this area, will be done this weekend. Animations/AI will be adjusted, so here he is (near the Pteranodons area):

    FYI, every time i add something or make a new video (i know loud footstep sounds), im just throwing in a standard asssets 1st person controller, for now (thats how i dev), till the game is at the point where adding the UFPS controller is needed.

    I place an asset, throw in a standard asset controller just to show whats current, once all assets are in place, and game is at the point where a UFPS controller is needed, AND AI/Combat animations are going into place, theres no need to waste time and set-up of UFPS.

    Just a few "hints/Tips" from my experience:

    1) ALWAYS make a backup of your project, use a different "project" to test "imports" or new assets 1st.
    2) Periodically, zoom out of project, go to Window/layout/"revert to factory settings", as over time this can cause problems, "bleeding" non - ability to zoom in close etc.
    3) Every time you add something new, test it with a Standard Assets 1st person controller, as you can easily just delete it, and add it in, in another place for testing, instead of using/setting up your main controller, everytime.

    Your game is AAA - - I Would like to help make a story, I like idea of Engineer working for NASA on, Anti-matter drive for Rockets Has an accident and, is sent back in time, for 65 million years - - he Must learn to survive and, recover the things that make him go home, he needs to improvise an energy source, maybe from a volcano or, catch lightning - - I hope the story will be good and, fantastic - -

    Now, as far as dev work, ALOT has been done this weekend:
    • Base line foliage/trees, etc. is now finished! (only exception is a newly added area)
    • 2 new species added (cant show, will be a big "WTF is that?" surprise).
    • Correct water is now set up.
    • Script/Code (C#) clean-up started.
    • Texture per-model, and resolution conversions done.
    • Occlusion culling and texture instancing done.
    • Static/dynamic batching done.
    • Polygon reduction for applicable models done.
    Next up is volumetric clouds and fog, plants, rocks, dead trees, etc.

    Damnnnnn that looks so cool. I suggest adding some Post-Processing v2 into your scene. It'll look a lot better. Also, How do you make your 3d Models and textures?

    Thnx bro :) Yes, post processing effects v2 is coming up in the next phase, along with volumetric clouds, fog, etc.

    Most models (either mine or bought) are modified, as well as textures, as i have to watch out for TPM (textures-per-model), and texture resolution, i try to keep most textures between 1024 - 2048.

    I use Blender mostly, and to the contrary, (with editor plug-ins) , theres alot that can be done within unity itself. My second biggest tool is Gimp, i like it more than Photoshop. As i can create my PBR mats easily.

    Also lighting is a big factor, as they say in Dev circles, its about what you can "do without", more than "do with".

    Remember, with volumetric effects theres 2 ways to go, plug-in base, or unity modified assets, choose wisely (as theres performance impact for both), i personally use a 1 draw call system for that.. and id be happy to add you to the Beta Phase List... :)
