JRPG : World Map

    How does one go about creating a seamless 3D world map seen in many JRPGs. Where the player would seamlessly move around the world, without noticing the world is actually flat by default. Where things like clouds and water are taken into account with that seamless transition.

    ive never seen a 3D map purely flat. do you mean a birds eye view, almost like a 2D view of the map?

    Yes, Exactly. The classic JRPG view, but with 3D assets.

    Would like a world map with Character and Airship movement.
    Where you can move vertically and horizontally endlessly.

    Example : Lost Sphear - World Map


    Example : Evoland 2 - World Map


    Not interested in randomly procedurally generated terrain. Would like to make a world map for a single player game, that loops around to the other side. But appears seamless with the character, terrain, clouds and water.

    apologies for the late reply, im currently trying some code to see if i can achieve a similiar look!
