Issues with 2018 hanging, visual studio hanging, 30 seconds + for no reason

I don't have the problem with 2017 or 5.6x, only 2018, and it's every few minutes.

It's not when compiling, often it's when I hit Cntrl Z to undo, or if I tab over to the editor from the my web browser. The entire window will cover my screen, can't tab to any other open windows for 30+ seconds.

While I'm coding in Visual studio, it will also freeze and become completely unresponsive for 30+ seconds.

I have projects still in 5.6 and 2017, and am not having the issue there, but 2018.2 is frustrating the crap out of me with this issue.
