    Hey guys,
Is there any way to keep the grid in an isometric tilemap visible once you hit play?

    Thanks!

    Hello @mulhollandmaster121,
Could you let me know a bit more about your expected end result? Are we talking about game view or scene view? and what is the reason for having it visible in play mode?

    Thanks in advance!

Hey Ted, I'm trying to get it to stay visible in game view. For now, I went into photoshop and jankily outlined the edges of each tile I'm using, so at least it pops, but I expect that there has to be a better way from within Unity.

The end result would be something along the lines of Into the breach. In scene mode, there's a nice grid there where I drag my tiles into, but as soon as I hit play, they're gone. /:
    Thanks!

I see, thanks for the clarification and the game reference.
So there are three techniques I can come up with to solve this issue:
    1. Draw the borders into each tile texture
    2. Overlay an additional tile map over your current one, and draw the borders with border sprites
    3. Create an edge shader to add the borders dynamically

Let me know how it goes!
