Is Unity right for me?

    I'm starting a project which requires real-time reflections on all the flat windows and polished floors. I'd also like all lights to cast shadows. All these features seem to be present in UDK and CryEngine, but not as standard in Unity.

    you can do lightmapping. but if u want the best and such u need pro.

    yep agreed with rik
    for all reflections and stuff like that pro license is required....

    They are not standard in the free version - however the pro version does support them. UDK would probably be best for this, as it has a community familiar with the things you want.

    No, but the sdk is though.. (note: free to download and install and run it.... strictly that. Commercial/noncommercial use/publishing is a case by case situation on wether it's free or not)

    UDK is similar, though noncommercial use/ppublishing is included in the free use license...

    Unity is free, but limited in features, commercial use/publishing is allowed and included in the free license (however there are some minor limitations, e.g. revenue barrier etc).

    OK got confused since I read nothing about it and the OP lists is as an engine that gives him what he wants but dismissed paid Unity.
