Hello, and please forgive me if I posted this in the wrong place or if there was a better place to post this. I am the project leader of a game myself and a few other people are wanting to make. The game is a fighting game, but very much akin to Super Smash Bros. Melee or Super Smash Bros. Project M in terms of speed and gameplay. I would like to know if Unity 3D is the appropriate engine for making a game with this kind of speed. We want it to be 3D Model-based so modding an engine like M.U.G.E.N. is out of the question for us, at least for right now. For those who may not know, here are some examples of the kind of speed and gameplay we wish to create. Thank you very much for your answers, they are very much appreciated.
