I think it certainly is, seeing this reminds me that Capcom once had truly legendary artists until Ono destroyed the Street Fighter Franchise. Dunno why Capcom still allows this man to destroy the franchise like this

Back to this trailer I have seen trailers in my lifetime but this one holy crap I wonder which company made it... This is some real world class stuff looking at it alone creates so much hype

It's a standard montage trailer with some glamour shots interspersed. It's a completely average trailer, really.

I was genuinely going to post that if asked to present a better trailer!

Seriously? Look like the ones generated by phone apps automatically:
    Chose your theme: EPIC.
    Done.

It is certainly a pretty good trailer, however it is not by any means the greatest marketing trailer

i think the greatest trailer in history wouldn't say "air combo" 20 times.

if I made that trailer, the "air combo" thing would be a huge embarrassment.

    Haha! Auto-generated levels.
I personally had a 'thing' for Warcraft 3 trailers. Especially the ones that were created before the game released.

And you are going to draw all those new art work of Morrigan and Wolverine aswell?

I think not. Also music is top notch

As a trailer it seems fairly middle of the road. Its not bad production values, but its not super high production values either.

BTW anybody knows if MVC3 uses Cel Shaded art?

Someone told me its a misconception and that it does NOT use Cel shaded.

Well if so how the heck did Capcom get it to look so 2D? while still being 3D? offcourse they themselves didn't create this game they outsourced it to some Japanese studio and Marvel kinda oversaw the art direction but no idea if Marvel actually created anything for this game

I think that what you perceive as a good or great trailer is going to somewhat depend on the types of games that you like. I don't find the OPs trailer even the least bit interesting and not really that that well done. The great thing about the Gears of War Mad World trailer is it got me wanting to buy an XBox even though it really isn't my type of game.

I've always thought that Polyphony Digital made top notch trailers but then I am into racing games.

Am I the only one here that found that rather disturbing to watch? Must be getting squeamish in my old age...

Oh man, I've forgotten about this game. Hyped me up real good when I first saw this trailer, wonder how far along is it.

Square Enix usually makes great trailers in my opinion.

Bioware, on the other hand, has been doing an incredibly weak job with ME Andromeda.

I thought Killing Monsters was very good.

Kinda funny how Lambert mocks him for it in-game.

It doesn't look like it. It just looks like they've polarized the lighting to make things look either sharply lit or almost entirely shadowed. You still see gradients in coloring throughout.

Just compare screenshots of MvC to Guilty Gear Xrd, and you'll start to see what makes something cell shaded.

Ehhh.... to an extent, perhaps, but there is definitely an art to making a trailer that actually stands out, like the STRAFE or Dead Island trailers do.

Oh yeah for sure but I still agree that most people will be easier to impress with a trailer if it is for the kind of game they greatly enjoy gaming. They will already have a good view of it to begin with. At least more so than for a kind of game they rarely play or outright hate.

Basically goes back to that whole target market thing. Although some things like an extremely funny trailer people may enjoy it in all cases only for a laugh. Things like that.

Definitely one of the top 10 for sure.
The Cyberpunk trailer is also top quality.

I also like this Dead Island trailer a lot. It exemplifies the saying - Funny=Money.
