Okay so im making this Succubus character and im almost done... but than it hit me...
Is it too lewd for asset store? Since i don't want to waste my time and who ever is in charge of approving assets, im gonna ask here. What's Unity's standard for lewd? This is quite subjective thing, but some reference would be appreciated.

There's no nips and no genitals visible, so I'd be surprised if that got rejected for lewdness. That model looks pretty run of the mill for video games IMHO...

(but then, I'm not Unity, so make of that what you will)

Well, the model isn't particularly lewd, so I doubt it would get rejected for that. I think the question that @StarManta raised though, is who's actually going to want to buy that model? Is there a market for it, in other words. I'm not an artist, so am not qualified to comment on it artistically. I guess someone who needed this kind of model would also need animations, particularly if succubi can fly. Maybe test the water with a slightly less provocative version and if that sells well, make more detailed, seductive versions?

(Am saying that as a Unity user, not in my position as an employee.)

Even if your model is rejected, you're just a texture swap away from wealth and riches! ;)

Have a look at the Elven Witch by Mr Necturus and judge from that. But one can never second guess the decision of the asset store reviewers so until you submit who knows?

Wow. Not seen that before. Astonishing quality. Yeah, it's a model with boobies, but I can imagine people purchasing the model for a real game.

Tnx for reply guys, i still have to polish it up a bit for prime time. The idea was to make it compatible with mecanim's humanoid animations and control wings trough physics.

Now at least i have some idea.of what the standard is.

Yep more texture work, perhaps some second more clothed version.
The wings looks really weird, like it is some plastic that has been teared , not enought solid , too much like clothes or cape behaviour, not wings. Would be better special effect rendering for wings instead like DarkSiders game.

The question is... why is she showing her ass cheeks? Is she off to fly to Rio De Janiro with her bat wings to do some sun bathing?

Anyway. Whose to reason why. Just make a game out of it so all the girls at comicon will come dressed like this. ;)

Good point, i rushed the cloth effect on wings(the movement is same for all parts), but it's kinda hard with that Unity bug were vertices are shown black so you can't rely edit cloth effect properly. Il just redo the topology for whole thing and rely more on displacement maps since from what i saw most models have 10-20k plays and mine is 40k whitch would prolly be a no no to some ppl.

Artistically speaking as a succubus my concern is they look entirely too human other than the wings.

Often a succubus is depicted with a tail with a devil spike at the end, and this helps 'demonize' them further, also vestigial horns wouldn't be bad. Skin tone might be good to adjust from the pasty pale 'white girl' look to a red toned demon ; but that's just my preference.

Video games is often about one of two things when it comes to art:

    - high definition 'approaching' realism
    - impressionism with a style guide (think of TF2, WoW, Minecraft, pixel art etc)

Right now this asset looks like a 1991 attempt at realism.

My advice is to take an impressionism with an illustrative approach something that might fit in to a lot of games that arent shooting for realism (Dungeon Keeper style right?)

Ur right, it's too generic and there are already succubus models on the store, guess i should go for something unique to sand out. TBH since it's my first full asset and i wasn't completely sure of what exactly i was making, but id say the asset already payed for it self considering how much i learned making it.

Do you guys think some thing like this would sell? I see a lot of ppl making horror games.

Yeah that would probably sell; but I would finish what you've started -- you put a lot of work in to it.

You are probably feeling fatigue -- which I get but a retexture shouldn't be too bad. Put it in photoshop and do a gradient map or a hue shift? Then touch it up from there?

Yea that's exactly what's happening XD
Kinda lost my wits being trolled by both Zbrush's and XNormal's texture baking system.
Il just take a small brake until that "i just wanna finish this ASAP so i don't have to work on it any more cuz im just sick of it" mentality fades away so i can work without tension XD
