This issue is still present in the latest Unity 5 Beta 5.3.0B4 and I haven't found it on the Roadmap.

It was discovered on November 18 2014.

It already says: "Status: Fixed in future release" but what does this mean?

This bug has preventing us from shipping for a long time now and I'm sure there are a lot of other people too because its a basic feature to have real time shadows and baked lightmaps.

The project basically was ready on Unity 4 but since it's a VR game and Oculus has decided to not upgrade the Unity 4 support we had pretty much no chance but to upgrade to Unity 5.

At least i want to know when I can expect to have realtime shadows again.

I love Unity but it is so frustrating that there is no real technical support, only the premium support which at least has 3 months included.

Now that there are only a few differences between Pro and Free, it would be great to have some kind of support for a software that costs 1500$...

I really hope to get an answer.

It's so frustrating we've been showing a 4 month old build from Unity 4 on the last meetups/conventions that we've attended. I'm just glad that we have side projects so that we are not 100 % financial dependend on our VR project otherwise i think i would have gotten a heart attack by now. :D

If i would tell some friends of mine that use UE that Unity is now longer than a year without mixed shadows they wouldn't believe me. :p

I hope they add it in a beta release soon. December would be pretty hard for us.
