Is there an asset like a reverse exploder?

    Hi all,

I have a need to instantiate a prefab - but I want to have it "materialise" like a reverse explosion - that it's facets/triangles come together to form the object.

Kind of like "Exploder" but in reverse. Does anyone have any ideas?

I hope I'm making sense - and thanks for your help :)

    Ian.

I'm guessing you might be able to use one of the exploder assets on the asset store and reverse its action.
And the coming back together into a prefab would be a 1 frame swap out from the explosion coming back together - swapped in 1 frame with the together prefab.

If you're looking specifically for triangles, I think Fragmentum may be able to do that out of the box.

Check out the fourth video example on this forum page.

Fragmentum does indeed do that. It's pretty easy to set up too.

If you were looking for something that allowed you to use fracturing created in say Max, Maya or Blender then the MegaCache asset would play those back, in the video below you can see the slab falling and breaking into pieces and then playing backwards so it all comes together. It may be overkill for your requirements but its an option.
