Is there a way to update only the timeline version and not the whole editor ?

I tried to update the editor to the new beta but, My lucky I did a backup before but once update to the beta all my scripts didn't work fine I had other problems when I tried to back to the last version I used I had problems with the Post Process Stack. and tool me some times to solve it.
