Is there a supper Moderator who you can complain about a moderator too? There is a very over zealous power mad Mod that needs his powers revoked IMO.

@Aurore and @SaraCecilia are the community managers for Unity. They are the closest thing we have to super moderators.

All other moderators essentially follow their lead.

And complaining about @hippocoder is hardly new. Its also unlikely to be successful. Most of the community agrees with the thread locks and moves on.

True. They cover each others backs. Useless to pm them, they just ignore you.

If they won't address it to your satisfaction take to social media. Let'em have it over there.

Pester @Aurore here and on Twitter. Hippocoder is on Twitter.
    Good luck with it.

I love the idea of being bombarded on twitter, it'd make me feel vibrant and relevant to be the center of controversy! A ray of sunlight in an otherwise dreary day of removing spam so you can enjoy a forum based on making games.

LOL, I never mentioned Hippocoder, I never named a name! But seeing as his name came up so easily I can't be the only one annoyed with the aforementioned mod. He closes threads as soon as he likes with no thought to the OP or all the people constructively contribution to a thread. He lets a few people ruin a thread then closes it for everyone else. So Annoying.

You simply have to visit the forum before I spot a thread that's spiralled out of control :D

The early bird gets the troll

Sometimes the early mod is the troll.

Just for the record, I've agreed with most of your decisions to lock threads. I'm in no way associated with any anti mod sentiments.

If you are concerned there is always another thread starting. Derailed threads happen at about a rate of 5-10/day on these forums. Just wait an hour or two and another comes along. The mods have to sleep at some point, and you'll be able to get in on the ground level of a derailment pretty soon.

The alternative mod strategy would be to delete posts en masse. From experience modding on other sites that's a less popular strategy then locking. Its also more work.

Don't forget the recent influx of "Can my [insert PC here] run Unity?" threads.

i was locked one time by MOD ? because i was complaining about 'easy save 2' because it was the worst unity asset i have purchased for the money price, totally useless to use as a save game asset. my title was; easy save = rip off and i was locked and even sculded for trying to EXPOSE an asset that i believe is a rip off.

the moderator (it was not hippocoder) was a i believe very unexperienced and acted like a jerk, who made a knee jerk reaction because i got into an argument with another unity member who thought i was wrong for trying to expose what i thought might be people trying to take advantage of unity members.

i was just trying to help and i was punished for doing so.

They have reasons to lock a thread. Without them there would be chaos on these forums.

But I know you'll ignore me like last time because as usual I am right and you're wrong.

Such matters must be taken privately with developer of the asset. If you want a public complain then why didn't you put negative review. Everyone who was interested would see your review.
So there is your fault, not moderator's.

Pipe down before you hurt yourself. Your junior inexperienced mod was no less then Eric5h5 himself. The guy is somewhat of a legend in these parts, and has been recognised by Unity Technologies for his outstanding contributions to the forums and answers. Every one in the thread was offering helpful suggestions in a reasonably polite way. You essentially swore at anyone who had a different experience from you.

I would suggest messaging "superpig" (sp?) I believe is one of the "super moderators" -- not 100% sure on that. Also, Aurore or Andy Touch or Graham Dunnett etc....

There are probably several channels you could go to if you think something needs to be addressed in this regard. That being said, while I don't agree with every thread lock, I think the mods on these forums are doing a pretty decent job. You'll have a few threads where a mod might be reacting more on personal opinion, or emotion more than they should be, but I don't see it often enough for it to be very problematic.

Most of the time they do a good job of stopping unconstructive threads without treading too much on our perceived forum freedoms!

If you have a serious complaint though, then ya, report it I guess.
