Is there a maximum recommended length for FBX files or anim clips?

Hi, this might be a dumb/ confusing question.
I'm working on making a Timeline cutscene and wondering a bit about best practices.

I have a 3DS Max scene- about 8,000 frames. My main character is animating periodically throughout, about 10 shots, maybe 4,000 frames of animation total.

I'm wondering what the best/ most efficient option is:
    1. Export all 8,000 frames of him animating as one fbx and just drop it onto the Unity timeline and hit play (all one clip).
    2. Export all 8,000 frames of him animating and break it down into the relevant 10 different anim clips in Unity. Drop clips in Timeline w/ proper timing.
    3. Export each shot of him animating as a different FBX file. (10 smaller FBX files totaling 4,000 frames, rather than one big 8,000 frame FBX)
    4. something else...?
I guess I'm really just wondering what game animators do, and whether there's any issues with exporting very long (thousands of frames) FBX files and using them in Unity. Is this normal? Not normal? Is there a limit to how many frames you can have in an FBX or Unity anim clip?

    Thank you.
