Is pyxel edit any good

I'm thinking about buying pyxel edit (http://pyxeledit.com/), is it any good and is there any better alternatives that don't cost loads of money.

 

i've tried it few times..but personally didn't really "feel at home" yet..

other ones that ive tried,

– Pixothello
– Asesprite
– Graphics Gale
– IcoFX
– Grafx2

then started making my own pixel painter instead (but currently on hold, until get the time to continue on it.. i can give free coupon if you want to test the early version, its quite limited still though)

*and still few pyxel licenses available on this giveaway for good submissions

 

I'm doing just fine with Paint.NET.

Admittedly I still suck major obscenities when it comes to animation.
