    Hi,

Just received this mail from Adobe/Mixamo

As a coder, these services (mainly Auto-rigging) are very useful to me. I hope that some of them will be maintained.

    Go ahead, before closing. ;)

I think following will stay same as per Adobe's web site:

Select and use characters from Mixamo’s Character Collection
    • Upload 3D characters to get them ready to animate using the Auto-Rigger
    • Apply animations to characters
    • Download as an .fbx or .dae

Why would they get rig of the Auto-rigger? Thats a staple Mixamo service. I really doubt that it would be included in their house-cleaning.

I was under the impression that they were going to eventually start charging for Mixamo. This would seem to indicate the opposite. I can't imagine they would charge for something, but not let you store your data. I may be completely wrong though. Just doesn't seem like the direction they would go.

Hopefully this is just a step towards fully integrating the tech into their own offerings. They have a 2D character animator in Creative Cloud, ideally there'll also be a 3D one in the future.

Even assuming that's the case, the time it's taking is pretty frustrating. Mixamo had some pretty significant issues, but it was full of promise and was definitely moving in a great direction... until it got purchased and has just been stagnant for two years.

Looks like they are removing the polygon reduction tool. That tool was actually very useful :(

Adobe buying it out is the real reason why it might be condemned. :p
