Unity 5's Standard Shader supports IBL lighting out-of-the-box (by using diffuse and specular cubemaps).

Are there any benefits we would gain by continue using Marmoset Skyshop in Unity 5? Or did it become obsolete? An argument against Marmoset Skyshop is lack of PBS support.

I'm wondering about this as well. I bought Skyshop last year but haven't had chance to use it much... now that PBR shaders are standard, it seems like using them is the simplest way to get IBL without complicating workflow and means you're not dependent on a third party.

The option to add an HDRI direct to your scene and blur it was cool with Skyshop, how can this be done in 5? What method is used to convert an HDRI to cubemap?

Umm just import the HDR texture then in the import setting you can setup the convolution value (Irradiance/radiance) cubemap. But the result is not as good as Skyshop/Lux convolution cubemap, They said that it will be improved in the future.
