Is it possible to remove no longer needed custom group Labels in 'My Assets'

I have some old un-needed Labels and would like to remove them but don't see any place to remove them entirely as a label option (if it's a duplicate or mis-spelled for example)

I know how to remove a label from an assets - but there isn't any way to delete a label entirely so it doesn't show up in the label options list

 

I figured out the issue right after sending this post - I had some hidden assets that had labels so I couldn't remove those labels but also couldn't see that there were assets using the labels. once I showed the hidden assets and remove those labels and the unneeded label group actually had 0 assets in it that label went away!
