Yes, it's definitely possible, but it's very expensive. To have a good experience with Unity you need at least two cores, at least eight gigabytes of memory, and at least light gaming capabilities (high-end integrated or low-end dedicated).

Initially I looked at the cost of using Amazon Workspaces (their cloud virtual desktop service) and the prices looked reasonable at first glance but a little research revealed that their inexpensive tiers only support basic graphics that would be necessary for running office applications. Nothing gaming capable.

Amazon Workspaces Graphics on the other hand has the necessary graphics hardware that would make it possible to do game development with Unity, but the pricing is no longer reasonable with the cheapest tier being about $300 per month assuming the typical 160 hour business month.

For $600 you would only be able to run AWG for two months, but for the same amount of money you can get a reasonably powerful budget laptop from Acer. Quad core processor, eight gigabytes of memory, a solid state drive, and a dedicated graphics card equivalent to a desktop GeForce 1030.

For $900 you would only be able to run AWG for three months, but for the same amount of money you can get a good gaming laptop from MSI. Similar specs to the above laptop except with a far more powerful GeForce 1050 Ti.
