Is it a good idea to package prefabs for a friend's project? (technically)

I'm making room models in Blender for a friend, and I generally send him the .fbx and textures.

I noticed recently he hadn't followed my video to apply the textures I sent correctly, and got to thinking:

Can I open an fbx in Unity locally, set up the textures, save a prefab and email / Google drive him a prefab to load in his project so he doesn't have to worry setting it up?

I see in this link that prefabs are good for various scenes within a project, but I'm curious how hard they are to share between projects (ie. different engine versions etc).

    Thanks for any tips.

Although it is highly advisable to use the same Unity versions. Or in the worst case scenario you need to use the lower version. Because downgrading is not supported in Unity at all.
So you either prepare everything in the same version or lower version (although in this case you may miss some features, obviously).
