Is Blackberry Playbook still supported?

I have this Blackberry Playbook tablet I'd like to try to get something working on. Maybe not to sell, just see it running on this tablet. I've gone through today's docs (which seem to be out of date) and managed to get the 2 csj files sent to me anyway. I got as far as trying to upload the Debug Token, at which point it fails with 'Error: 5022C232' (number being my device PIN). Since the docs are out of date, and this is not working, just wondering if it's a fad that has come and gone or what?

And by 'docs out of date', I mean that BB has a new option that LOOKS like what I want, but when I select it, it starts downloading a single CSK file to my computer, which is not to be found in the Unity Editor or the docs.

Note: I did google, found very old posts. I asked on Answers, got sound of crickets.

I don't think that Playbook was ever supported. I *think* Blackberry were going to port BB10 OS to Playbook, but changed their minds. (Might be why you've had crickets.)

I actually got this tablet from a BB rep at a Unity meetup where they were all about it being OS10. I seem to recall actually getting something working on it about a year ago. When I fired it up recently, I'd forgotten the password and had to do a factory reset on it. Now it has OS 2.1.0.1917 after the system update. Very disappointing. As far as Unity goes, seems this would be THE device they'd want to have Unity content running on. Maybe I reset again and don't update the OS?

Well, if the Playbook has Blackberry 10 OS on it, then Unity should be able to make builds. I don't think there are any consumer devices that have BB 10 OS, though. If you do get that OS on the device, bear in mind that you might be one of a very small group.

I thought that might be the case. But in any case, I still think the Unity docs are out-of-sync with present reality at the BB dev site regarding setting up the registration.

Thanks for bringing this up, basically I made a thread some time ago on Blackberry section..most bb docs are out of date with manual etc, agreed on this..seems the relationship between bb and unity is not to strong.

Anyway there are some games being sold for the playbook that are made with unity3d, im not sure if these are android modded for playbook or a hack done..i tried to build on playbook but unity does not recognise it properly, hence failed. If it was recognisd as valid device then im sure we would be able to make some apps for it:.but again its a dead project and not worth anyones time, regret buying it!
