Is any way to contact someone who bought a package?

Someone bought one of my package and left a comment on the AssetStore page about an issue he found in it.

I left a reply that he should contact me so I could help him, because I'm not sure what he meant. That was over a week ago.

Does he get a email/message when a reply is left on his comment? Is there any way to contact him? Clicking on his nickname in the AssetStore doesn't give me any information.

I can understand the importance of privacy, and I'm wondering if there's some service in the Asset Store backend to contact a customer in an anonymous way (Ex.: without me seeing their email address).

EDIT: The answer to the above is "No.", so here's a feedback request; http://feedback.unity3d.com/suggestions/the-assetstore-should-offer-ways-to-contact-consummers

No to all your questions. There is no sort of notification built into the review system at all. You can try and search the Unity forums for the same user name and see if anything comes up. You can only reply to his review and wait for him to see it (he may never).

Frankly I'm disappointed that the Asset Store takes 30% of the profits and yet they don't give you a list of email addresses for people who bought your assets at least, so you can follow up with all customers for promotions of your other products, "updates available" emails and the like. I'm of the mind that that should be provided to authors. Most sales platforms do this sort of thing. They could always opt out.

Not directly, no. The only way to see actually if there's a new version of a package is to get into the asset store and check your downloaded packages. If there's a new version available, there will be a little notice saying so.

I know that AntiLunchBox, the author of SoundManager Pro, has a "built-in-feature" that Debug.Logs right at the Start of Unity that there is a new Version of SoundManagerPro. That's actually great :D

I suppose you could engineer in some settings like that into you app, as well a the possibility for customers to enter their email addresses into your plugin directly.

Unity should offer tools for that, and it should be part of the shop. Like a mailing-list option, where the author of a package cannot see the consumer's email, but can broadcast update news.

I think having ability to contact consumers is very important (Ex.: When someone find an important bug), but also that anonymity is as important. Unity should offer options that solve both.

What you could do is coppy the persons name from the comment then go to the forum and click the 'Start a new conversation' link that is on the menu when you hover over 'inbox' .

Paste the username in the 'participants' box and fill in the rest as needed.

Dont know of it would work or not but must be worth a try.

Also if you look at a users forum profile there is a link to start a conversation with them in the 'Interact' section, I suppose it is like sending a PM as in other forums.

Infact if you click a users name then a box pops up and the start conversation link is in there as well.

This assumes that the username for the asset store is the same as on the forum, my username is different on the asset store to the forum.

I was looking through the Feedback page and saw that there were some similar requests there, but they were really confusing and mixed in with other requests. Maybe you could start a new feedback request for it. Once you do that post the link here and I will vote on it too.

Yeah, sadly, in my current case, that's exactly the problem.

Great idea. Also I don't think it should be anonymous. The publisher gives the support, so the publisher should get all the customer information.

I think to do it anonymously is to avoid any kind of abuse, and to have a filter between the author and the clients. I don't even know how horribly complex the EULA of the AssetStore would become with this kind of information sharing.

If a consumer wants to contact the author, usually he has the information to do so in the package's documentation or on the AssetStore. The problem here is the impossibility to broadcast important information about the package.
