Just wanted to tell (proudly) about this news:

I'm co-author of an upcoming book about iPhone development (Amazon.de link) and the book will cover also a small part about Unity which I will supply. The book is called "iPhone development for beginners" and focussing not only primary on the code, but more on the "side aspects" that you will need to know when starting as iPhone developer, like what tools you need, how does the app store work, all the little tricks around the app store that we learned, code signing certificates, the tax procedures when registering, Admob, and all this stuff. Surely contains some code examples, but it's not a pure code cookbook. One part will be an outlook into game development where I will tell about Unity then.

    Phew, exciting times! :)

Thanks, I'm going to tell the publisher that there is interest outside from germany. They tend to translate some of their successful books, maybe this one too. Thanks for hint.

So you're going to teach the noobs how to create iFart and iBurp apps? We all know that you can get rich with 10 lines of code (hehe).

Sorry, since you said beginnerz I could not resist :)

It must be *a lot* of work to write a book.
So congrats and good luck! :)

Thanks a lot for the nice comments! :)

@ Slayer5150: Haha, no problem, if that is the cookbook how to make #1 appstore apps then we did everything right with the book. But I have small doubts, but only small, that this book teaches how to make #1 apps... :)

@ Scrat: Yes, that is. My buddy Michael (the main author) took off his work for half a year and is writing on the book and I'm glad I'm only helping out on the book and not write it all. Damn lot of work.

Thanks yeah, seems there is a high demand for the book also in english. Got a couple of mails already. I just poked the author that he pokes the publisher hard to make sure there will be an english version too of the book. Thanks for the interest! :)
