First off I'm sorry if this is the wrong forums thread, it is directly relating to IOS so I assume this is the most suitable location.

I currently have solely developed for Android, both in source code and with Unity.

My main question is how is the performance of IOS directly related to Android.

I do not currently own an IOS device so all I can go by is physical hardware. In comparison to Android, IOS lacks greatly. One of my main games I'm developing requires (for Android) a good amount of hardware. I advertise my minimum requirements as a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1gb of ram on a 2012 or newer device.

Now I have performance friendly settings and can comfortably play my game on my Droid X2 which is a 1GHz dual-core 512mb phone.

I've also been successful in launching the app on my droid 1 which is a 0.8GHz 256mb of ram. The app is pretty much unplayable but it does "work". It does however crash frequently due to lack of memory.

Relating this information to IOS it would appear that only the iPhone 5 would be able to run my game efficiently.

My question is does IOS run games better? Is the GPU better then most Android phones putting less stress on the CPU?
The iPhone 4s is a dual core, would it maybe run it more efficiently then my Android dual core?
The iPhone 4 is a single core, would it probably suffer greatly?

How efficient is memory management in IOS? My game can peak 250mb of RAM according to my device (Samsung Galaxy S3). Anything under the iPhone 5 has 512mb so there is a potential for crashing if that 250 would appear on IOS too, but will it?

I ask these questions for two reasons, first to know where the limitations are with IOS compared to Android.
Secondly I would love to develop for IOS. So with this information I'll be basing what device I will buy.

In regards to physical hardware I don't get why Android games aren't 500 times better. Considering iPhone has a max of 1.3Ghz dual-core where Android has 1.9GHz quad cores.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

Android games aren't 500x better because Android games don't make as much money (generally speaking, there are exceptions to this rule). So you develop for iOS in mind at all times. If you made phone-specific features it greatly increases your dev time/cost.
