The Official Unity iOS Face Capture app works over the network and streams the FACS data totally fine, but there is no audio or video saved to camera roll or computer or wherever it is supposed to go...

Can't see anything in the docs about troubleshooting it either.

I started to roll my own janky recorder, but unity doesn't really handle audio recording well so it's been a slog...
Would be great if we could do this successfully on iOS!!! CleanShot 2022-12-01 at 23.21.15@2x.png

FWIW the iOS app never requests permissions to access the camera roll, and checking system permissions doesn't show a switch, so I'm guessing something is wonky there

    Hi psql,

Thank you for reporting the issue.

I haven't managed to repro it so far but I'll try again with more details. Can you share:
    • iOS version
    • Device
    • App version

Also can you confirm the issue persists after uninstalling and re-installing the app?

Yes it's unusual that the microphone and camera permissions aren't popping up or appearing in the settings in your situation. Here's what it normally looks like:

Normally the files are stored on the iOS device, under the Face Capture app. To access them I:
    1. Open the Files app
    2. Select On My iPhone
    3. Select Face Capture
    4. Select Recordings
    5. The Audio and Video folders contain the recordings

    Hi markbeiline
In your screenshot it doesn't seem to show a permission for access to camera roll or files? Is that the expected behavior?

I see a folder for Face Capture in the Files app, but no recordings saved there. I see a single Temp file.

I'm running iOS 16.2, iPhone 13 Pro. Not sure how to find app version, but as of 2023.01.02 i'm running the latest available from the App Store
