    Hi,
After 17 months of work I am finally releasing my game Stealin. I did soft launch on iPad (in December) and I am adding iPhone and Android on 5th of March! Hopefully I haven't wasted my life working on it. :) Feedback much appreciated!

    Press Kit: http://stealin.mobi/press/

    Game teaser 29 sec

    Gameplay (Level 15) 1:12

    Some screenshots

I used Unity, Everyplay and Unity Analytics. Everyplay caused some issues on Android but I have to say, their support is great! I am sure they know me there by name ;)

    Thanks,

I played to your game, I don't like it, and I don't like the control.
But it's my point of view ;)

Thanks, that will motivate me for the future :p Just kidding.. honest feedback is better than a lie, at least I can improve it.

I know the controlling is challenging, would be much easier on arrow keys/WSAD but I couldn't find any other way to implement it on touch devices than what I have now. It's already 3 iteration but maybe still not perfect :/

Any specific reason you don't like the game? Is it the way it was made or just type of game?

Love the quips. "Third best game on your mother's iPad."

I enjoy the concept. It's JezzBall with a military twist. This wasn't obvious to me until I played it, though. The App Store description was pretty vague about what gameplay was actually like.

Presentation is very well done. Everything looks clean and has a sense of polish.

I do agree that the controls are the weakest part. I also get why they are, I think. In JezzBall, you can start a cut from anywhere with your mouse. Here, you're limited to the tank's movement, which is not only restricted to a continuous line, but limited to orthogonal movement.

The only way I could think this might be improved is to actually not do the swiping gestures anywhere on the screen, but limit control to the virtual joypad. Instead of the + control, also, maybe a quartered circle would allow for smoother transitions between directions.

Overall, though, I like it, and I'll be playing more of it during my next nightly poop. :D

Wow, great feedback!! Thank you! If I could just get more of these before publishing, I wouldn't have any issues in the app! :)

I added to my to ToDo list task for app description and increased counter for "improve controlling" :)

I am actually really surprised that Apple approved it. I was expecting to be rejected but looks like they have sense of humor or they didn't notice :D

Okay, I played it a bit more during my lunch break, and I think I narrowed it down a bit more. It's not a problem with swiping, it's that I was being thrown off by having to hold the direction when outside enemy territory, and automatically moving when inside it. A few levels in, a pop-up explains this, but until I had figured it out, it felt awkward.

I think I'm used to it now and it doesn't bother me, but having initial struggles with controls is a dangerous thing in the mobile space... Many users don't forgive the confusion and will leave the app, never to return (if it's free... if they paid money, they may be more patient).

That art style is really nice. Simple, but clean and attractive.

    Hello good people!
Thank you for your help with iPad version! I used all of that feedback to improve Universal version of the game and I am releasing Stealin on Android and iOS on March 5th!

Keep your finger crossed for good launch and do not hesitate to share Stealin website (http://stealin.mobi/) and Press Kit (stealin.mobi/press) with your friends. :D

    Thanks!

    We got first YouTube review:

Amazing experience to watch someone playing your game, reading your texts, trying your work. I was super stressed for the whole video, afraid of the moment like "what's now, what is this #&%" but it didn't happen!

    Some stats from today.

Stealin is 1st in the strategy games in Poland in Google Play. On other markets it's ranking between 10th-30th and still going higher.

We also have some challenges with piracy, especially on Android but I don't think we could avoid it, at least we know that people like the game enough to pirate it ;)
